External Safety Officer in Tyrol
ASchG, prevention time, risk assessments? We take over the occupational safety supervision of your company, with site inspections, documentation and one fixed contact person, so you can focus on your core business.
Mandatory from the very first employee
Every employer in Austria must ensure occupational safety supervision, regardless of company size. The question is not whether, but how: we have been supervising companies across Tyrol for years and reliably take over inspections, evaluations and documentation for you.
A production company with 200 employees has around 300 hours of statutory prevention time per year, at least 40 percent of which must be performed by a safety officer. Exactly these hours are what we take over, plannable and documented.
How supervision under the ASchG works
Up to 50 employees: inspection model
Regular inspections of your workplace (annually or every two years, depending on size), including documentation and a concrete list of measures.
From 51 employees: prevention time
From 51 employees, the law prescribes annual supervision hours, the so-called prevention time: 1.2 to 1.5 hours per employee per year. At least 40 percent is performed by the safety officer. We plan these hours where they have real impact.
Everything documented
Evaluations, safety instructions, safety representatives, coordination with the occupational physician, and one contact person when the labour inspectorate is at the door.
What we take off your plate
- Workplace evaluation: identification and assessment of hazards, definition of measures, ongoing updates when new equipment or working materials are introduced
- Inspections and instructions: safety walk-throughs with a prioritised list of findings, instruction documents and operating procedures employees actually understand
- Work equipment and substances: advice on procurement and use, an eye on statutory inspection duties and practical operating instructions
- Noise measurements: carrying out, evaluating and documenting noise measurements at your workplaces, as the basis for the risk assessment and effective protective measures
- Authorities and audits: support during visits by the labour inspectorate, interface to fire protection, §82b audits and plant permit law, all from a single source
Workplace risk assessment: the foundation of every supervision
Every employer must identify and assess the hazards to the safety and health of their employees and define suitable measures, recorded in writing in the safety and health protection documents. The Austrian ASchG requires this regardless of company size.
We carry out the assessment together with you: from walking through your workplaces and assessing work equipment, substances and noise to a concrete list of measures. When processes, machines or substances change, or after an accident, we update the assessment so your documentation is right at every labour inspectorate check.
Occupational safety supervision in brief
When does a company need a safety officer?
From the very first employee. Every employer must ensure occupational safety and occupational medicine supervision. Up to 50 employees per workplace the inspection model applies, from 51 the prevention time model.
What is the statutory prevention time?
From 51 employees, the ASchG prescribes annual service hours: 1.2 hours per employee at office workplaces, 1.5 hours at other workplaces. At least 40 percent is performed by the safety officer, at least 35 percent by the occupational physician; the rest can be allocated freely.
External or internal safety officer?
External pays off for most companies: no training and further education costs, no substitution issue, payment only for the actual supervision time. Plus the outside perspective that authorities and insurers value.
Who is liable with external supervision?
The legal responsibility remains with the employer. The safety officer advises, documents and supports. Good supervision therefore means complete documentation, so you can prove you fulfilled your duties if it ever matters.
